We Love Oakville (WLO) is a grassroots, not-for-profit organization made up of residents' associations from across Oakville. We advocate for responsible land use planning and development that serves the long-term public interest of our entire community.
Why Non-Partisanship Matters
A core principle of WLO is to remain strictly non-partisan. We do not support, endorse, or oppose any political party or candidate.
Remaining non-partisan is essential to:
Protecting our credibility and objectivity;
Earning the trust of the entire community; and
Enabling us to work with all councillors, candidates, political parties and the government in power to develop and advance solutions in the public interest.
Our Work on Midtown Oakville
WLO has developed and will continue to develop analyses and presentations on the future of Midtown. We:
Support the Town’s Official Plan Amendment (OPA); and
Oppose the Province’s Transit-Oriented Community (TOC), which we believe is not acceptable, not required to meet provincial targets and is not in the community’s or public interest.
Transparency and Equal Access
All our reports, presentations, and findings are available at: www.weloveoakville.org. We publish everything openly so that the public, media, community leaders, candidates, elected representatives and political parties all have equal access to the same information.
WLO is committed to maintaining high standards in the materials we publish. If any errors or omissions are identified after publication, we will respond promptly and correct the affected documents.
Accountability, Not Endorsement
While WLO does not support or oppose any candidate or party, we will call out:
Misleading claims;
Missing information; and
Errors in public statements or platforms related to Midtown Oakville.
Serving the Whole Community
We Love Oakville exists to serve every neighbourhood, every resident, and enable every voice. We are guided by transparency, integrity, and our commitment to community-first values.
